Profile: a 28-year-old man with 3 year’s experience as an interpreter in the Information Technology field, 6 months’ as an English teacher, and a couple of years working in the IT field, ranging from technical support (clients and servers) to software development.

Career objective: Pursuing a position as a translator / interpreter between English and Brazilian Portuguese. Technical translation is my current specialty.

Feb, 2009 – current => attending Translation / Interpretation bachelor course, at FMU

Jun, 2004 – Feb, 2010 => I partially attended 3 superior courses in the IT field, such as Internet Systems, at CEFET-SP, IBTA, and Uninove

Feb, 2000 – May, 2004 => I attended 2 technical courses, Mechatronics and Chemistry (both completed), followed by 1 and a half year of Physics at superior level

Sep, 2009 – Mar, 2010 => Internship position as a software developer with Java and related open-source technologies, at Adaptworks

Sep, 2008 – May, 2009 => Microsoft technical bilingual support, at the contractor Atento. When Microsoft customers had troubles on their servers, they contacted me as a means of first level support, and I could count on Microsoft engineers abroad (the USA, Canada, and India) for further support so that we could provide customers with the appropriate solution, over conference calls and remote access to their servers

May, 2007 – Sep, 2008 => Microsoft technical interpreter, at the contractor Atento, providing Microsoft customers a communication channel to engineers abroad, participating in technical calls of a vast number of Microsoft products, rendering back and forth between English and Portuguese

Dec, 2006 – May, 2007 => English teacher at Microcamp and Fisk

• Cambridge CAE and CPE certificates
• Languages: Chinese and Japanese; I consider Spanish too
• Specialization in other spheres of knowledge for translation, such as the scientific one
• International trips aimed at experiencing other cultures, boosting my knowledge in the languages of interest

After so many years involved in the IT field and given my huge interest in English language, alongside my current English specialty, IT, I plan to join a market where, as I've been told, lacks such professionals, technical translators and interpreters. Prior to the experiences mentioned, there were other totally technically related, both as a professional or an an intern. Focus was given to my utilization of English language.
